Emotional Intelligence: The Key to Getting Along with People

Emotional intelligence is a set of learnable skills we all have. We use these skills to understand our own emotions, others' emotions, and manage our relationships and  stress levels.

At CM&F, we are certified to offer the EQ-i 2.0 assessment, a robust assessment created by psychologists and used in professional settings for over a decade.

This assessment will

help you identify your current skill levels in five key areas:

  • Self-awareness of emotions
  • Self-expression of emotions
  • Interpersonal relationships
  • Decision-making
  • Stress management

It also provides an overall indicator of your own well-being.

The assessment is an online test that you take AFTER you schedule your coaching session, and BEFORE that session takes place.

You receive your results during the coaching session. This ensures:

  • you gain a detailed understanding of your own skill levels
  • you understand your skill level compared to others
  • you have the opportunity to identify one, two, or three skills to work on, AND simple tools to improve them

Manage Stress

Assess your skills in handling life's difficulties and identify ways to do better - IF you need to, with a trained coach.

Make Decisions

Learn where your skill in decision-making falls compared to others, and IF you want to, learn tools to make decision-making easier.

Key benefits from this course

The EQ-i model of emotional intelligence combines basic emotional intelligence theory and skills with information about stress and decision-making.

Unlike many other assessments that either try to pinpoint inborn traits, or have right-or-wrong answers, the EQ-i offers instead the opportunity to see how your current skill levels measure up - and, working with a trained coach, you get to decide whether you want to improve.

If you do identify one, two, or three areas to work on increasing your skills, your coach will give you simple, practice tools to do so.

The EQ-i consists of 16 elements, in five categories:

  • Self-awareness of emotions
  • Self-expression
  • Interpersonal relationships
  • Stress mangement
  • Decision-making

Personal traits don't change. Cognitive intelligence is difficult to change. Emotional intelligence is different. When you have the right tool and work with the right coach, you will be amazed at how easy it is to skill up - and your work life and interpersonal relationships will  become easier.
